This vineyard source is located a few miles from the famous Gary’s Vineyard that put the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA on the map. Influenced heavily by the daily fog that permeates into the vineyard, “Sea Smoke” as the natives call it, you can taste a classic Pinot Noir from Pommard and 115 clones that are grown at this site. Only 3.5 tons of these Pinot grapes were harvested in 2013 at a beautiful phenologically ripe 26 Brix. This is a nimble and elegant style of Pinot Noir showcases classic SLH style with Bing cherry, cola nut, tea leaf, cranberry, light toast and barrel spices. The acid really shines through brightly here as the tannins are elegantly integrated, supple and balanced.
