DOUBLE GOLD - 2015 SF Chronicle!
Our 2010 Artist Series Meritage, created by winemaker Jim Frost, delivers Double Gold inside the bottle with the impressionistic work of Rick Reinert on the label. A starlit summer sky with its vibrant night colors illuminating the renown King Street shopping district are elegantly captured in his work, Charleston Nocturne.
Inside the bottle, you will find a flavor profile and balance reminiscent of our 2009 Artist Series Meritage. Jim’s signature Bordeaux blend once again delivers both visually and on the palate as a bold and beautiful representation of distinctive Napa Valley fruit harvested from both hillside and valley floor vineyards.
Swirl your glass and experience the bold aromas of black cherry, blueberry, vanilla, coffee, tobacco, and chocolate. This full bodied and complex Napa Valley blend of the five traditional Bordeaux varietals is a delight! The 2010 is a perfect example of what we continuously strive to achieve since the first AuburnJames crush in 2005. We are quite certain that you will love this wine while celebrating your own special moments in time. Still approaching its peak, which should occur in the next three to five years, this wine is drinking beautifully now. Laying down a bottle or two as the wine continues developing its complexity will be rewarding. If you cannot wait, you will still be rewarded! We like to say, "it is a win-win situation!" Cheers!

About the Artist
Rick Reinert’s formal art training took place at Western Kentucky University in the 1970’s and gave way to years of independent study and one-man shows in Germany and Canada in the 1980’s featuring large, expressionistic works. Reinert strives for purity of the color and brushstrokes in creating paintings that showcase his passion for the expression of light and shadow in our world.
Painting seven days a week, 9 hours a day, he continuously challenges himself as one of America's most prolific painters. This dedication and hard work is paying off as his paintings gain critical acclaim with numerous Best of Show and People’s Choice Awards in competitions across the country. Dusk at King and Queen received “Best of Show, Mayors Purchase Award” at the 2012 Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition. That same year Reinert was the featured artist at the Charleston Symphony’s live auction. His work Ships of the Heartland was a top 100 winner in the 2008 Paint America Competition and Southern Radiance was included in the top 200 paintings in the 2008 “Oil Painters of America” Exhibition. Reinert was recently featured in American Art Collector Magazine for the eighth time in November 2014.
Reinert shares a gallery with Kevin LePrince at 179 King Street in Charleston, SC. His work hangs in museums as well as private and corporate collections in most U.S. States, Europe, Canada, South America and in Asia.
“Nature and sunlight have provided me with the ultimate reference library. I believe that it is possible to study painting for a lifetime and never have to venture more that one square mile for constant challenges and a wealth of subject matter. Every day offers unique and exciting opportunities for the artist who follows the light.” Artist - Rick Reinert
