2008 AuburnJames Meritage Napa Valley
A delicious blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, and Petit Verdot. The wine has aromas of dark fruit and a bouquet of blooming flowers. The profile is soft and dry with tones of black cherry, fig, hints of vanilla, and soft oak. Beautiful undertones of spiced oak and fresh earth showcase in a long finish.
This Meritage blend will greet you with aromas of dusty dark fruits, flowers, and herbs, and as you sip this wine you will experience a jammy ripe black cherry with vanilla, fig and blackberry. Significant time in the barrel has created a softness to the tannins that truly makes the whole experience come together... urging you to pour yourself and your guests another glass!

Aged for between 27 and 33 months in 36% new and 64% 2nd fill French oak barrels
This wine is a classic blend of four Bordeaux grapes. It has balance and complexity like the 2007 that builds as you drink it. Each varietal was crushed and fermented separately and barrel aged in French oak until the second racking. We defined the blend and then returned the blended wine to barrels to finish aging before bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
Pairs well with BBQ meats, smoked dried meats, and even for dessert with a cheese cake with a cherry sauce.
