The 2009 AuburnJames Bella Vista Block 1&4 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was chosen #1 at the 7th Annual California Cab Shootout Challenge on Treasure Island! Each of more than 200 participants voted with their palate at Saturday's blind tasting of the 35 top panel selected shootout wines... the result was that BOTH men and women voters selected our AuburnJames Block 1&4 Cab as their TOP wine from the entire field of entries. We are honored and humbled by this wonderful result.

This wine will be released to our Wine Club (Club Info Here) in early March 2013 and what remains of the limited 204 case production will be released for sale to the public on March 20th.

AuburnJames Celebrates its 1st Anniversary on Hartz Avenue in Danville, CA. Matt Ospeck & Jim Frost have been making wine together since 2005, but only last May was the Tasting Room & Fine Art Gallery opened in Danville. Expect a week of celebration and specials!

2011 California Cabernet Shootout Results are in... 92 pts for AuburnJames 2008 Block 4 Bella Vista Cabernet Sauvignon. Napa Valley, $75/bottle (150 cases produced)

Shootout Tasting Notes: Toast, brown sugar, raspberry, red currant, wet autumn leaves… layered with hints cedar in the glass. Black cherry and vanilla on the palate. Everything is proportional and in the right place. Balanced and complex.

It appears that about 280 wines were rated in this competition... Out of 100 pts posible, only 17 wines scored 92 pts or higher with the highest at 94. WAY TO GO JIM!

AuburnJames winemaker, Jim Frost will speak on the panel discussing Bordeaux wines and their California counterparts.
