The AuburnJames Winery was born in 2005 with the first crush of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Raywood Vineyard in Napa Valley and a handshake between Matthew Ospeck and winemaker James Frost. These two men share a passion for artisan winemaking, and are committed to a process that is, for the most part, conducted by hand. Together, they are intent on producing small lots of Bordeaux style Napa Valley wines that are designed specifically for the AuburnJames wine club membership.
In May of 2016 we completed the 1001 Tasting Cottage at the Auburn Estates, which is located on the famous Silverado Trail in St. Helena. Our new facility also houses our new winery, which has over 7,000 sq. ft. of production space with the ability to produce approximately 5,000 cases annually, however most AuburnJames varietals and blends do not exceed 400 cases.
