The AuburnJames Winery was born in 2005 with the first crush of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Raywood Vineyard in Napa Valley and a handshake between Matthew Ospeck and winemaker James Frost. These two men share a passion for artisan winemaking, and are committed to a process that is, for the most part, conducted by hand. Together, they are intent on producing small lots of Bordeaux style Napa Valley wines that are designed specifically for the AuburnJames wine club membership.
In May of 2016, AuburnJames opened a Tasting Cottage at the Auburn Estates property. A comfortable place to enjoy award winning wines nestled just between the famous Silverado Trail and Napa River in St. Helena. This beautiful property also houses the new winery with over 10,000 sq. ft. of production space and the ability to produce over 20,000 cases annually, including custom crush services for others. Although most AuburnJames varieties and blends do not exceed 600 cases, this facility gives our winemaking team room to expand well into the future!
